Hello Woods Families!

It sure has been nice to have the sun pop out! Week 28 was busy with more Math 24 Competitions and ended with Pi Day, which is a day filled with celebrations and pie tasting. Then, the middle school students head back to elementary where they can teach a lesson on Pi to all the younger students. Thanks to Mrs. Kawlewski for making math fun!

Here are a few important things to know:

  1. Pi Day here at Woods is quite eventful. Our middle school students have the opportunity to bake a pi pie, which then gets voted on. Thanks to everyone who baked and brought one in. 3rd place went to Lorelei (6th), Lila (7th), and Greta (7th). 2nd place went to Rylynn (6th), Henry (7th), and Harper (8th). Our 1st place winners were Connor (8th) and Cary (8th), congratulations to all!

  2. There is also a 6th grade Pi Day digits competition (who can recite by memory the most digits of pi). 3rd place went to Lukas P with 20 digits, 2nd place went to Molly A. with 37 digits and 1st place went to Archer B., with a whopping 91 digits. Way to memorize those numbers!

  3. Monday, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. Help us celebrate by wearing GREEN! Please see the attached flyer from the Student Council.

  4. Congratulations to the following 5th graders who competed in the Math 24 Competition this past week: Daniel I., Aiden B., and Max K., nice job!

  5. Spring break is quickly approaching. We are off for spring break the week of March 24th and our first day back to school is Monday, March 31st.
